The Pastor who beat her flock
Pastor Shin Ok-ju, the founder of the religious group the Grace Road Church, was arrested last month accused of leading a cult in Fiji. She had moved there years before altogether with 400 of her church members, claiming that her country would suffer famine. The problem came when some of her faithful followers complained about being taken their passports, so they could not return. What is more, they were obliged to work without remuneration.
Recently, a controversial video was released on the Internet: the pastor appeared on it, hitting several members of her congregation and commanding others to do the same. The footage was broadcasted in the South Korean television in August.
